The table separates required materials from permitted choices. Colors, tinsel width and profile, leg count, and finishing product are not fixed by the recipe: follow the demonstration fly for those.

Hook

Specification: Ahrex NS156 Traditional Shrimp, size 8 or 10

Status: Permitted choice: either size

Thread

Specification: Semperfli Nano Silk, 50D or 100D

Status: Permitted choice: either weight

Eyes

Specification: Bead chain, small or medium, mounted on top of the hook shank

Status: Size is a permitted choice. Top-of- shank placement is required.

Tail

Specification: Loose rabbit fur tied in as a bunch, no hide attached

Status: Required. Do not substitute a zonker strip with skin.

Body

Specification: Semperfli Ugly Bug Yarn

Status: Required

Rib

Specification: Tinsel, as a separate material from the yarn

Status: Required. Width and profile not fixed.

Legs

Specification: Semperfli small rubber legs

Status: Required. Count follows the demonstration.

Thorax

Specification: Ice Dub

Status: Required

Hackle

Specification: Grouse feather, palmered as the final material operation

Status: Required

No fixed pairing of hook size to eye size is prescribed. Choose them together so the eyes suit the hook.
